Wolf Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children and young people in all aspects of our work. The safety of young people is paramount, and we act responsibly, transparently, and in line with national safeguarding standards.

Our Commitment

  • To place child wellbeing at the centre of our work

  • To maintain clear professional boundaries

  • To act promptly and appropriately on any concerns

School Talks & Workshops

  • All Wolf Academy representatives working with children are Garda Vetted

  • This policy is shared with schools upon confirmation of booking

  • A Designated Liaison Person (DLP) is identified prior to each visit

  • Any disclosures are reported to the DLP:

    • within one working day

    • immediately where urgent

  • A guidance counsellor or qualified staff member must be present during workshops

  • Confidentiality is never promised where safeguarding concerns arise

Recording & Reporting

  • Disclosures are recorded using an incident or disclosure form

  • Records are stored securely using initials only

  • Information is shared with the school DLP

  • Wolf Academy does not investigate disclosures independently

Direct & Online Contact

Young people may contact Wolf Academy via email or social media. In these cases:

  • Responses remain brief, professional, and appropriate

  • No personal advice is provided

  • Young people are signposted to appropriate supports

  • No ongoing private conversations are engaged in

Disclosure of Self-Harm or Abuse

Wolf Academy representatives will:

  • remain calm and supportive

  • listen without judgement

  • not ask leading questions

  • explain next steps clearly

  • document the disclosure accurately

  • report concerns to the school DLP or TUSLA

  • Contact An Garda Síochána if an immediate risk is present

This policy is reviewed regularly and approved by the Board of Management.
